Keemun Congou / Qimen Red Tea (Chinese Black Tea)
Keemun is a black Chinese tea with a winy and fruity taste, designated as one of the 10 Famous Chinese Teas. Well-composed and elegant, our Great Taste Award-winning Keemun from Anhui has an exotic flavour profile with extraordinarily sweetish spiciness. A great pleasure - low in caffeine and tannins! Going strong for 150 years, it never disappoints and is still used for a number of classic blends. This uplifting drink from China has captured our hearts. If you're anything like us and can't get enough of black tea with a slightly tart finish—wait until you experience the splendour that is Keemun Congou.
Kongou (same as kung fu) is Chinese for "skill" - same as in the Gongfu tea ceremony, and Keemun Kongou is most enjoyable if drunk in this style.
I'm mostly accustomed to red teas from Yunnan province, but this is opens up a completely new dimension of Chinese red teas, there is a certain sweetness and flowery aroma to it. Making a great brew is very easy with this tea.
